Role of Automated “Dosing Controller” in Hydroponics
Crops, in a recirculating hydroponic system continually remove nutrients and water from the nutrient solution, thus necessitating management and monitoring of nutrients supply and pH of the nutrient solution. Since in a commercial hydroponics production system, especially where the size of mixing tank is more than 1000 litres, manual maintenance of nutrient solution EC, pH and temperatures is not only cumbersome but also tells upon efficacy and quality assurance of the venture. While automation of water could simply be managed through ball clock valve, an automated “Dosing Controller” may have to be installed in the system for maintenance of EC, pH and temperature. A clear display of EC, pH and temperature on the front panel of Dosing Controller would help to manage and monitor the nutrient supply in a hydroponic system 24x7.
